Must have eye makeup Brushes

Here is my small but adorable collection of daily eye makeup brushes . I have included the ones I have in my reach and not the ones I don’t use much . Ahh !!! I am a makeup brush junkie and still in search for THE BEST in the market. I am big fan of MAC Eyeshadow brushes but do love the ones from drugstores brands. Nothing can beat the quality of MAC Brushes but I maintain it took me nearly 2 yrs to build this collection , they are my small Gems and close to my heart. Here is what I use in my day to day eye looks : ( I have compiled them in one post so that it is easy to post links in my future post )

The first step in eyeshadow application ( lets keep the primer for last ) is patting color on lids and here are the most used brushes :

MAC 239 Brush , nothing can beat this except for the 1600/- price tag. This was my first brush from MAC and GOD !!! I am hooked , I am still trying to save some bucks to buy one more but no luck . It is densely packed brush and picks up the color nicely in natural bristles and it is a breeze to pack the color without any fall outs. The brush is fluffy enough to pick the color from pan and stiff enough to pack the color evenly on lids. I cant think of any con for the brush , it gives exceptional results every time no matter how the texture of the eyeshadow is , it does its job well and I highly recommend this. If you want to buy only one brush go for this without even thinking twice.

Sephora all over shadow small brush # 23 , I guess I picked this brush as a filler item while shopping . The brush is around $ 10 – $ 13 and I have no clue why I spent so much on this but nevertheless I am GLAD I did and GOSH , it is really a small wonder. It is small enough to  add details and big enough to pack on color , it is not as stiff as MAC 239 brush but does applies the color on lids easily. I don’t wash my brush every other day so after 239 this is the brush I reach to and sometimes I use darker colors and definitely don’t want to spoil my 239 and this comes handy in that situation.

Shiseido eyeshadow brush medium is my latest buy and you can read My Review here , it is not something I reach to every now and then but it is certainly nice brush to have.

The other 2 brushes are from TARGET and are again good when my 239 is not cleaned or if I am using 2 – 3 colors at a time.

My Pick would be 239 Brush by MAC any day any time , it is Seriously Bombastic and a must have brush .

The second step : Blending the color in crease where we need little rounded dome shape brush :

MAC 226 Brush is my first pick for that. I am going to pick this for sure from MAC MAC ME OVER COLLECTION , Ahh I need to review this separately , I have to share the story behind this and how hard it was to get this Gem in my hands . No qualms with this , the design is just awesome and it makes the perfect crease . It is fluffy enough to fade any harsh lines and the dome shape makes it perfect to define the crease nicely.

MAC 217 Brush is again wonderful brush , I use this mostly to apply color on brow bone or to apply color above the crease and below the brow bone. This is again wonderful brush for concealers and loose powders as well. If you are not able to get MAC 226 do get this brush. The price is very reasonable , it comes for 1100/- and a good all time brush from MAC .

My Pick would be 226 any time but as the availability factor is concerned I would say go for 217 for blending out colors evenly .

Now comes the finishing eyeliner brush , I switch between these 3 :

MAC 210 is my ultimate thin eye liner brush , it is the best ever liner brush I have ever had . I was little hesitant to spend 1 K on this teeny tiny brush but glad MUA Divya made me buy this and I cant thank her enough. Its been one year I am using this and it is still going strong . you can make thin line or thick line with this , it gives flawless line every time and no there is no shedding problem with this till now. It does looks very small but it is magic , SERIOUSLY.

MAC 208 is angled liner brush and I use this sometimes to place thin line of eyeshadow on lower lash line or for gel liners or use this for eyeshadow as eyeliner or even filling in brows. the price is 1200/- but totally worth it . This is my absolute must have for small details on lower lash line. I prefer this over MAC 219 which is pointed but not as thin as this is.

INGLOT 30 T is again beautiful and must have liner brush , it is bent eyeliner brush and gives a perfect line as it fits in eye shape . It has nice densely packed bristles to give thin or thick line . The price is nearly 725/- INR and if you happen to grab this in sale nothing can beat that.

My Pick : For me it is still MAC 210 brush for my everyday liner application.

Now some random brushes I use when my above brushes are not clean or are lying here and there :

MAC 224 blending brush is not my most favourite , it is good brush but very fluffy , not bad either but nothing to rave about . I guess MAC 226 have spoiled me enough.

Jane Iredale blending Brush is nice brush , I will review it in separate post and will post comparisons as well.

Some random small details brush from brands like MAC , Ben Neye , EOB , E.L.F. and Eco Tools . Let me know which one you want me to review separately.

They are all good for small details like crisp lip lines , or applying color on lower lash line or nick knacks. I do like MAC 219 brush for smudging eyesahdow but again nothing great. I told you MAC 208 would be mush more better for lower lash line work.

This should be the first step but I kept this for lat :

MAC 249 Brush is absolutely wonderful synthetic brush for applying paint pots and cream eyeshadow on lids . It is densely packed and applies the cream product evenly on lids and the best part is the product is applied beautifully without leaving any traces on brush . I use this mainly for my MUFE Aqua Creams . It is not a must have brush though , you can use any synthetic brush or the best is use your finger tips as the warmth of fingers makes it easy to apply cream product. I have it and hence use this .

The other brush is the cheaper alternate for above brush and is part of a set by Essence Of Beauty  , you can read My Review  here for some more brushes by EOB which are equally great.

I tell you , as am writing this post my hands are itching badly to buy new brush … GOSH !!!! Its so hard to resist and am sure you will see another brush in a week or so. I am so much into these and request you to look out for MAC Brushes and invest in good eyeshadow brush. Take your own leisure time and see what works for you and see which brush you will use more often. The other brands to look out for are Clarins , Clinique , Lancome and Shiseido in Indian Market.

I hope you liked this compilation and I am going to post same for Face Brushes as well.

Such a nice collection. I’ve been collecting my brushes for awhile as well. Actually the 224 is great for blending concealer under the eye, on the sides of the nose and for applying brow highlight or even MSF around the eye to soften the eyeshadow. Try it, you might find some new love for that brush :)

I like the 226 as well. I managed to get one when it was release with the Mac Me Over collection.
