As am trying to hoard most of the permanent line MAC Lip Pencils and especially on old price I came across this shade when lovely MUA Melody was trying some combinations on me . I was pretty surprised how beautiful the color was looking on its own and when paired with nude lipstick it was looking even more stunning . I paid 820/- INR for this and if you try you will find this at the same price in most of the stores .
MAC HOVER is described as Rich Caramel Brown and is apt description for this particular shade … it looks perfect nude lip liner on my medium to dark coloring , if you are little lighter then me, it may appear more brown . On my NC 40 skin tone , it is more like peachy golden brown shade . I see the color working for most of the skin tones but on medium to dark skin tone it will look more like a nude lip liner which covers pigmentation in one swipe.
Again repeating the same thing – MAC Lip Pencils are creamy , long staying and densely pigmented , the only shade I find hard to work with , is – MAC MAGENTA , but only in terms of texture .
When I reviewed MAC Spice Lip Pencil , or say when I started using it, I was pretty sure that it is my perfect warm rosy brown shade but when tried HOVER for the first time, I could see that it has little more warmth as there is no hint of pink . When I swatched them side by side , Spice appeared more pink toned then this . If you are looking for brown lip liner with added warmth then do try this out . It goes pretty well with nude lipsticks / corals and peaches .
I use MAC Lip Pencils mostly with the sheer finish lipsticks like Lustre / Cremesheen or for finish like Matte / Amplified and Satin there is no need to use lip liners … this is what I think , or else with my favorite gloss to make them stay little longer .
And this is how the liner looks on my lips : Rich peachy golden brown
I will post Lip Combo soon , but here is a layer of MAC PRRR Lipglass on top of this liner :
I hope you liked the review ? Do share your thoughts for the color and would you prefer this or SPICE ??
