MAC HOT TAHITI is recent in my stash and I have already done a lip combination with the same time back and here I am with a brief review for the beautiful shade which I picked after reading my friend’s post here , what a pretty fall color it makes and the time is ripe to share this beauty with you .
Certainly one of the hidden treasures from MAC, the shade is lost in sea of vivid and bright colours. I hardly restrict myself from trying new shades but when it comes to finish am so finicky and guess this is main reason I never tried this shade. It comes from glaze finish and I already had 3 lipsticks from this particular range and tell you all 3 were disastrous and ultimately I had to scoop them for B2M.
As this is from permanent line I guess it is upgraded version from the same finish or may be little different from the 3 LE shades I tried, it is sans shimmer or glitter while the LE shades were full of shimmer. Glaze finish are more or less like Lustre Finish but little more glossy and less drying while same in pigmentation , like both are on sheerer side of pigmentation but darker colours can be great if you layer them and both the finish are super soft and creamy .
Coming back to the shade HOT Tahiti, very soft raspberry red shade which is very sheer in one swipe , looks like a tint / stain on my lips but can be layered to get more intense shade. I love to layer this over berry red lip pencils like MAC BEET or GIVENCHY # 6, the matte lip pencil with these lipsticks looks awesome and stays good for 4 – 5 hrs easily.
The colour will work great across skin tones, on medium – dark skin tone it will look more raspberry while on lighter skin tones it will pull more like a coral red. If you are scared to try out full blown reds then you can always try a softer, more tone downed version and still get the fresh looking face with this.
On its own, it doesn’t stay too long and as the shade is too sheer, the best I could make out is – use it with a lip liner and I so much love the effect plus the staying power .
And this is how the color looks on my NC 40 skin tone :
I hope you liked the review ??
