They say – keep the best for the last, and here is the best shade amongst three red lipstick swatches I shared with you – NARS FIRE DOWN BELOW ( $ 26 + Tax or 1500/- INR ).
Apart from some generous friends abroad I have ( WE ALLLL have ) access to easy, hassle free shopping at strawberrynet.com and never miss a chance to pick NARS LIPSTICKS from there. Picked this few months back and here is a quick FOTD with the same.
Fire down below is described as pure blood red and is from semi matte range. There is something so wonderful about this warm brick red shade; it does remind me of matte version of MAC VIVA GLAM 1 and MAC DUBBONET. I do love blue based RED’s but don’t keep myself away from Brick shades as they appear to be more flattering on warm skin tone.
My love for NARS lipstick is not overnight and one of the reasons is lovely reader of TEMPTALIA who made me fall for these – KAFKA. You musttttt read her Perfume Blog and I am sure you will thank your stars like I do. (SEE THE LINK in BLOGROLL )
If you love RED’s then don’t miss out these gorgeous shades from NARS permanent line and this is what I did. I own almost every shade and lusting these 2 – Shanghai Express and Dragon Girl. I repeat again – NARS knows how to make Red’s and play with golden shimmer. I do keep my lips prepped when am wearing this and it manage to stay for 5 – 6 hrs on my without drying my lips. The tint itself stays for another hr or two. NARS lipsticks are fragrance free and are housed in black rubberized square tube which is prone to dust.
On scale of 1 – 10, I would give this purfectttt 10: The colour is universally flattering and so is the pigmentation. For me it is the only shade of RED I would keep buying (from NARS). Where I find RED LIZARD to be more like GLAM DIVA shade this I feel can be worn more easily and would look sophisticated without being flirty and for somebody like me – NC 40 or above it is bang on!
Where to buy – From narscosmetics.com, sephora.com, nordostrom.com (USA), asos .com or strawberrynet.com (Internationally)
And this is how the color looks on my NC 40 skin tone :
