Long time readers and close friends know that I love layering my lip colours and all the madness and craze comes from the blog I follow religiously. I still feel nobody can beat her choice of colours when it comes to paring and I strive hard to achieve what I have seen in the past 3 years , you know am talking about TEMPTALIA.
You all have witnessed so many lip combinations in past where I used lip pencils, lipsticks and then lip-gloss and now there is one more addition / addiction – MAC LIPMIX.
A highly pigmented opaque cream used to mix and customize lipstick, to create any color, texture or look desired for lipcolour. Contains soothing emollients to help condition the lips. Available in a wide range of shades in a Crème texture.
Size – 10 ml or 0.33 oz , Price $ 15 + TAX or 950/- INR , Available in 13 shades at MAC PRO STORE
They look the same as OCC Lip Tar and I will do a comparison post in few days with some lip combinations but if I have to write in one line about my preference – I would go with MAC Lipmix then OCC Lip Tar, not because of availability but texture of MAC Lipmix is far better than OCC Lip Tar.
These are super pigmented and you need a teeny tiny dot to paint your lips , not that tiny but still you really need very less , very light weight and easy to spread and not at all drying on lips , gives semi – matte velvety lips which stays for hrs . It doesn’t bleed or feather and the texture is not at all runny. I squeeze out some in drumming jar which MAC provides so that there is no wastage of product , still if you want to use it directly from tube there is no big deal , you can keep your brush close to the nozzle and squeeze out the product directly on brush and then start painting your pout .
On their own they are great however I find they are best when you mix them with little emollient product – a creamy lip colour or lip-gloss. They can be little drying if your lips are not in good condition, I always prepare my lips when am planning to wear matte lips. On serious note, I find these are as good as NARS VELVET MATTE Lip pencils; MAC Lipmix does feel very velvety on lips and gives that almost matte look.
I don’t have any con for these; they are super duper product for layering and creating your own lip colours and as we all lust for OCC lip tar which is hard to find here, we have MAC PRO LIPMIX readily available.
On scale of 1 – 10 , I would give these puurrrfectttttt 10 – I highly recommend you to try these , KEAN at MAC PRO STORE was super helpful in giving me a sample of this when they ran out of Fuchsia although I had CRIMSON earlier but wanted to try out FUCHSIA .
Now that I have 3 , am already eying MAGENTA and ORANGE next . I do like to add , these are not must have from MAC but if you get a chance to visit PRO STORE don’t forget to try these if you are looking for long lasting lip colours . They are travel friendly but do need a brush for application – if you consider this a con !
I do feel they deserve a proper FOTD but as I have these for months now I thought let me just share an awesome product with you. I have shared how FUCHSIA and CRIMSON looks on my lips and will share RED with amazing combination of YSL Glossy Stain they both are made for each other and I shall show you soon.
FUCHSIA Lipmix looks on my lips : I applied very thin layer of FUCHSIA Lipmix on my lips and then in second picture I applied another layer of lipmix in Crimson .
IT is true to its name – Bright FUCHSIA , cool toned and would work with all the fuchsia / pink / purple lip colors
And then after CRIMSON Lipmix , I applied another layer of MAC Cult of Cherry lipglass :
Here is how CRIMSON Lipmix looks on my lips : I applied a thin layer of Crimson lipmix on my lips and then topped with MAC Cult of Cherry Lipglass
CRIMSON is deep dark ruby red shade .
I hope you liked the review and would share your favorite shade .
