MAC Vex eyeshadow is part of their permanent range and yeah it is in refill so no need to get into that right ?? VEX is described as Beige with pink green pearl and has FROST finish.
Vex is one of the hidden gems by MAC and no surprise it is ignored amongst all the bright and fun colors . Vex to me is more of silvery grey color with hint of pink and green , it changes colors as the light hits and superbly blends with any color family . It is certainly cool toned shade and looks lovely when used as highlighter with pink eyeshadow or grey eyeshadow or even when used on inner tear duct , it adds lot of oomph to any eye makeup.
I have used this as highlighter H E R E and H E R E . In fact I love this as all over lid color on days am in hurry and pair it with a contrasting eye liner , it works well as a transition shade with any color . This and Club eyeshadow from MAC are the best Duo Chromes I have seen and loved pairing with .
Although I keep myself away from frost but as I mentioned some of the best e/s from MAC are from this finish , like Humid , lucky green , Romp ( discontinued ) ,Motif , Rice Paper , Deep Truth , Satin Taupe , bronze , Amber Lights , Cranberry , Naked Lunch , Nylon many more , I have mentioned the colors I have .
With frost finishes most of the colors are highly pigmented and has subtle pearly sheen to it , they are almost opaque and doesn’t need layering to show properly. I have some of the best shades from Frost Finishes and cant deny the fact that I will add some more in future.
If you are new to MAC eyeshadow do try this range and am sure you will get some awesome bright colors as well as earthy colors from MAC permanent line of Frost Finishes .
And here is an example of how VEX look on the lids with MAC Club Eyeshadow and MAC Print Eyeshadow : Have used in the middle of the lid in both the EOTD’s
I hope you find the review helpful , have you tried VEX eyeshadow from MAC ??
